You’ve got your session booked, your outfit picked, and you’re ready to rock your upcoming photo session with Dazzling Diva Photography. Now, all you need are the perfect North Houston photo locations to let your best self shine!

I’m happy to provide a list of my top North Houston photo locations for you to choose from. Each place features its own distinct ambiance. Every carefully selected backdrop has phenomenal lighting that gives off that warm and subtle glow for eye-catching portraits.

When selecting your location, I recommend choosing one that reflects your individual style. If you feel comfortable, confident, and relaxed, your portraits will display the same vibe. For instance, if you’re in your element when you’re surrounded by nature, choose a natural, woodsy location. Or, if you’d love to strut your stuff downtown, let’s head to the city! Conversely, if you’re a bit on the shy side and get nervous taking photos in front of people, a private studio setting might be your best bet for authentic images.

These are just a few of my favorite spots – but I have more! Get a detailed list of options and recommendations for your specific session by connecting with me here. I look forward to hearing your vision for the shoot!

1. The Woodlands Waterway
Featuring a scenic waterway lined with trees, a vibrant downtown atmosphere, and beautifully landscaped green spaces, The Woodlands Waterway has a little bit of everything in one convenient location for a diverse collection of photos. Plus, it’s so relaxing to walk along the water’s edge and check out the attractions in the area.
I’ve been shooting at this location for a while now, but it never gets old. Every session looks a little different depending on the season. The Waterway is a fun way to get out, take some photos, and go for a date night or dinner on the lake afterward! I love the versatility. It’s easy to get both outdoor and cityscape backdrops within walking distance at The Waterway.
Check out these sweet and romantic couple’s photos along The Waterway. (I can do senior or personal branding photos here, too!)

2. Oak Atelier in Conroe
This stunning venue and photography studio books up fast. If you love it as much as I do, make sure to book a minimum of two months in advance, especially for weekend shoots.
About the Oak Atelier
The Oak Atelier is a unique venue, studio, and woodworking space nestled among five wooded acres. Just off FM 1488 in between The Woodlands and Conroe, this hidden gem is easy to get to, but it feels like a quiet retreat away from the city. I shoot here often, so let me know if you’d like me to save your spot!
Spaces
The Willow Glasshouse – This tree-covered glasshouse is full of rustic charm. The white beams, antique chandeliers, and sheer curtains add a touch of elegance, while the 360-degree floor-to-ceiling windows let in all the gorgeous natural light. The cherry on top? Marble floors! This light and airy venue is perfect for first birthdays, milestone shoots, princess sessions, family sessions, maternity portraits, and more!

The Oak – Inside the venue, you’ll find three more distinct studio spaces. The Oak features exposed, white-washed brick on one accent wall, full-length windows on another, and an adjacent double-sided floral backdrop (that we can easily remove). In addition, the entryway features gorgeous antique carved wooden doors.

The Elm – The Elm is actually two rooms in one. If you want a polished luxe look, this is the perfect space. One room has a vanity and velvet stool, full-length mirror, and an elegant clawfoot tub (great for intimate maternity portraits and milk baths). The subtle blue brick wall adds just a bit of color and works well with almost any outfit or style. Then, go through their hand-crafted French doors into the next room with a dark floral backdrop and windows on both sides of the room (to get morning and afternoon light).

The Adler – This indoor studio space features subtle warm tones due to the light oak floors, warm white walls, and textured stucco accent walls (complete with antique salvaged doors to match). I love the old fireplace mantel topped with a mirror. This room lets in plenty of light but gives off a warmer, cozier vibe than the others, which offer crisper, more industrial styles.

*Each space includes furniture that we can use in photos as well.
3. WG Jones Forest in North Woodlands
Need an enchanted forest for your daughter’s whimsical princess session? WG Jones Forest is the perfect spot to makes those dreams come true. The tall pines let in a soft glow from the sun, and the dirt paths and tall grass add in a bit of color and texture. The forest works well for portraits with little ones since there’s plenty of safe space for them to explore and play (ahem, adorable candids!).
The forest also provides a beautiful natural backdrop for maternity sessions, couple’s portraits, and senior sessions. Aren’t we so lucky to have this forest right down the road?!
*The forest can get a bit crowded during peak photo seasons and on the weekends (especially in the fall). However, I have some secret locations that I can show you. Ideally, we’ll try to schedule your session during a less busy time, so book well in advance for a prime spot.

4. Downtown Conroe
If you’ve ever made a trip over to Historic Downtown Conroe, you already know that it’s home to some delicious restaurants and unique shops. It’s a bit quieter than some downtowns, but it has twice the charm! I love the overall vintage feel, and it’s one of my favorite locations for guy’s senior sessions because of the more rustic look. Don’t forget to grab a bite at Flour-ish or the Red Brick Tavern after the session. Check out some of my recent downtown Conroe sessions below!

5. Market Street in The Woodlands
Want to update your headshots, take some professional photos, or schedule a personal branding shoot? Market Street in The Woodlands offers a clean, polished, and trendy backdrop to complement your professional portraits. The storefronts and landscaped walkways are full of color, interesting lines, and modern architecture.

Many of my high school seniors opt for this location for their graduation photos as well. The Market Street location is a way to include pieces of their hometown with a trendy, urban backdrop teens tend to prefer (while showcasing the latest fashion, of course). Portraits are Market Street portray so much energy and vibrancy – they’re just fun!
